Javan Hawk Eagle is one of endemic animals in Indonesia. It has similarities with our national symbol, Garuda. We can found it in humid tropical forest of Java, including Sempu Island, Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park, and Meru Betiri National Park. Because of Mount Merapi's eruption in February 2012, it cannot live there anymore. The Scientific name, Nisaetus Bartesi, is come from Hans Bartesi, who found this bird in 1908. Due to habitat lost and small population size, this bird was evaluated and put in the IUCN Red List as a Threatened Species.
